Building a Greener Tomorrow

At Wargadud Environmental Protection Group (WEPG), our commitment to environmental conservation continues to grow. We aim to expand our impact through sustainable programs, innovation, and collaboration that protect both people and nature.
1. Expand Reforestation and Tree Planting
We plan to scale up tree planting efforts across Wargadud and Mandera County, restoring degraded lands and creating community forests. By partnering with schools, local leaders, and youth groups, we will establish nurseries and promote indigenous tree species to enhance biodiversity.
2. Strengthen Wildlife and Habitat Protection
We will focus on protecting local wildlife and their habitats by promoting coexistence between people and nature. This includes:
- Conducting awareness campaigns on the importance of wildlife conservation.
- Supporting community patrols to prevent illegal logging and poaching.
- Restoring natural habitats through reforestation and sustainable land management.
- Partnering with conservation agencies to monitor endangered species and protect key ecosystems.
- Our goal is to ensure that wildlife continues to thrive in balance with local communities.
3. Enhance Environmental Education and Awareness
We will expand school and community programs to teach climate-smart practices, environmental care, and sustainable lifestyles. Through workshops, media, and outreach, WEPG will continue to inspire youth and women to lead conservation actions.
4. Improve Water and Waste Management
We plan to implement innovative solutions for water conservation and recycling. This includes rainwater harvesting, clean-up campaigns, and community waste segregation programs to promote a cleaner, healthier environment.
5. Promote Green Livelihoods
We aim to create eco-friendly income opportunities such as beekeeping, organic farming, tree nurseries, and sustainable energy alternatives. These initiatives will empower local residents, reduce poverty, and protect natural resources.
6. Strengthen Partnerships and Collaboration
WEPG will deepen collaborations with local and international partners, NGOs, and government institutions to share knowledge, attract funding, and expand our reach across Kenya and beyond.
7. Build Capacity and Leadership
We will train youth and women in leadership, environmental advocacy, and sustainable project management to ensure long-term community-led conservation.
8. Embrace Innovation and Technology
We will integrate modern tools such as environmental data tracking, GIS mapping, and mobile reporting apps to improve transparency, measure impact, and support informed decision-making.
Our Vision Ahead
A future where humans, wildlife, and nature thrive together — a greener, cleaner, and more resilient Wargadud for generations to come.
